issues (From Youtube comment)
This is a comment that was posted on one of my videos
I notice several issues with this.
- if you spawn far from any dots you are frozen in place as the bot doesn't know where to go.
- there are many occasions where there are too many threats and the bot becomes "confused" and switches targets rapidly, essentially twitching in place until you are eaten.
- it cannot split on its own, nor is it very good at lining up a split to overtake another cell.
- it does not handle split cells well at all, it controls the "main" cell ignoring the small ones. 9/10 they get eaten before being able to reform.
- on more then one occasion it ran me into a virus while trying to avoid another threat causing a mass split an most of my cell being eaten. Please do not take this as hate in any way, this bot is quite amazing. I post this simply as feedback for things to look into for possible updates. The bot works very well up until a score of 200-300, then it begins making strange choices and gets killed. Still very impressive work. Anyone considering a download, I say its worth it.
@DarkN3ss61 I am working on a bot that solves most of that if you want to pitch in there are still a few major problems should I make a repo for it or keep it in gist untill everything is stable?
@henopied , you can make a repo and I can take a look
Be warned it is currently crashing a lot because of my clear bad food so I may fix that on first commit. Edit: I have no idea where the crash bug is coming from actually.
Here is the repo: https://github.com/henopied/Applezbot-Beta/tree/master
@henopied I will take a look soon
@DarkN3ss61 I was working on it a bit fixing some things but I noticed a weird error it says it can't read property 0 which is not being used. and not on the line it mentioned either Edit: Also the way I compared size I think is a bit off
I'll pull some time to work on those issues.
