Landscape: Option to reduce height so more than 1 row of edited text becomes visible
In horizontal device orientation, the keys have same height and much more width than in vertical orientation, so they are much bigger. I do not need that big keys (size like in portrait mode is sufficient) and would strongly prefer to see more than 1 row of the edited text above the keyboard.
It could be a setting in user interface > details to scale the size, e.g. key height in landscape format and besides a slider 50% .... 100% of portrait format.
It's a bit hard to find, but it's already implemented. Go to UI -> Pick and configure keyboard themes -> [Cogwheel at the top right] -> Keys height factor in landscape mode.
Thank you @Razem , that's exactly what I was looking for and it works as expected 🙂 but the effect is less than expected: In some screens, I see 2 lines, in others still only one line – as I do have better physical control in landscape and thus much quicker typing, I think about whether the word suggestions bar could be hidden in horizontal layout.
I fully agree it's hard to find – I expected "Feineinstellungen" (EN fine tuning) within the keyboard layout choice is the same as in UI > "Optimierungen" (EN optimizations) > "Feineinstellungen", so that the same menu name in the same area (UI) has the same content. Maybe both can be combined (i.e. both have the same content) to avoid users are overlooking options? Or maybe the one you named can be migrated to the other one in "optimizations" and removed, so we have less fragmented menus?
