Pathfinding

Open Dangleos opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the content or mechanics you are proposing.

Bring back pathfind. Add a new unit control option which would let units controlled by processor to be controlled by a pleyer with RTS A new inatruction which would command units to go to a tile and find a path to it like RTS already can do. A "follow" instruction to make units follow a target like approach but tied to a unit instead of coordinates

Describe how you think this content will improve the game. If you're proposing new content, mention how it may add more gameplay options or how it will fill a new niche.

Pathfind have let units automatically attack, now only enemies can do it. Or at least add instructions below. Letting units controlled by processor to be controlled by the player too would blend the border between processors and the player making them less invasive. And an instruction to find a path would make ground units usefull in logic. With just old pathfind they couldn't retreat to repair points or ammo supply if there were some obstacles between them. Regular approach renews only when it's executed and if enemy is fast and the processor is slow units have slow reaction time

  • [X] I have checked the Trello to make sure my suggestion isn't planned or implemented in a development version.
  • [X] I am familiar with all the content already in the game or have glanced at the wiki to make sure my suggestion doesn't exist in the game yet.
  • [X] I have read README.md to make sure my idea is not listed under the "A few things you shouldn't suggest" category.

Ground units are now complitely useless in logic
