Looks like there's some unit test conflicts based on recent merges. #12016 would need to be reviewed

Unless someone can provide a reliable reproducible example, I don't imagine this will get much traction. Without that much, a fix can't be confirmed

I do agree that it's a low risk change that simply adds sanity checks. Feel free to submit a PR with the changes.

@Dunge while I don't have any real experience with MAUI, you can test this fix and see if it resolves the issue. (not yet published to NuGet)
