Recover tab history when reopening tab

When you recover a closed tab in Chrome, it also recovers that tab's history. This means that you can navigate back through the history of a reopened tab as if it had never been closed. It would be excellent to see this ability added to RecoverTabs!

I agree!

I'd like to completely switch to Safari with Yosemite and this extension gets me almost there, but history in recovered tabs is the last thing I'm missing from Chrome.

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to too, I don't think it is possible to do that. I do not think there is any way to edit the history of an open window.

Even though the browser will not have a record of a reopened tab's history, could an extension-specific macro be created to accomplish the same task? So that hitting e.g. Cmd-left will cycle through RecoverTabs' record of the tab's history.

I don't know of any possible way to save a tab's history from Safari's extension APIs. The only way would be to track every single page that the user visits and save them in memory by each tab. This would cause a huge performance hit. Heck, I get lag and stuttering when I set RecoverTabs to never forget closed tabs (it's in the extension settings in Safari's Preferences if you want to try it out).
