Radar Tower radius possibly nerfed in 1.1
Issue
Radar Tower range radius seems to have been nerfed in-game from about ~1.0 km to about 0.4-0.5 km, yet the SCIM still shows ~1.0 km. Idk if nerf was intentional or not, may need to wait and see, but just thought I'd raise awareness.
Replication
- Fire up SF 1.0
- Build a Radar Tower
- Build a second tower about 125 foundations away (1 km)
- Look at in-game map
- Mouse over Radar Towers group
- Note how radii overlap
- Fire up SF 1.1
- Repeat steps 2-5 above (or just load and resave to a new file)
- Note how the Radar Tower cover no longer overlaps
- Load the SF 1.1 save in SCIM XP 1.1, see the old 1.0 km radius
Actual Result
Replication steps demonstrate that the in-game radius coverage has been nerfed to about 0.4-0.5 km, but SCIM still uses the old ~1.0 km radius.
Expected Result
Maybe wait and see if the SF Radar Tower was nerfed intentionally, if it'll be reverted, etc. Otherwise, if a simple enough change, update SCIM to reflect the new coverage radius. (More precise measurement needed.)
Checked and most likely a bug in game as when you zoom in or out on the in-game map it just change the radius depending on the zoom
Forgot to update. In-game, resources seem to be detected in the full ~1km radius, but the displayed graphic is not rendered correctly. I wasn't sure if/how SCIM used info from game save to render this area of effect display. Hopefully this'll be fixed by CSS sometime during 1.1, at which point the SCIM display may also be fixed? We'll just wait a bit and see.
