Home Assistant Reports nothing when listening

I have followed the installation instructions with success up to the part where it says to use Home Assistant to listen. I went to Developer Tools > Listen to events and typed blemqtt/# in the box Event to subscribe to but nothing is reported (the python script successfully connects to my sensor and reports measurements). Any advice on how to proceed?

Unfortunately, you're in the wrong area. Things have changed in HA since I wrote this. Select Configuration Integrations MQTT image Then CONFIGURE Go to Listen to a topic Add in your Topic and START LISTENING image

I must add though, since developing this solution I have dropped it in favour of the excellent implementation in EspHome https://esphome.io/components/sensor/xiaomi_ble.html?highlight=xiaomi#lywsd03mmc Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. It asks me for my 'Broker', username and password; is that information contained in your installation instructions or this is something different?

Also I am confused about the EspHome. I actually tried installing it, but as far as I understand I also need to buy additional hardware (i.e. an ESP micro controller). I asked on their Discord and they said this was the case. But maybe you have ESPHome working for you somehow with just a Raspberry Pi or something and no additional microcontroller?
