Guys, did you wait for Cnchi to update itself?

karasu avatar Aug 09 '17 16:08 karasu

I did not notice updates! How do I force it?

mrmodolo avatar Aug 09 '17 17:08 mrmodolo

In the livecd, when the desktop is loaded, a bubble message is shown telling you that cnchi is being updated... even if cnchi is open, wait. It will update itself and reopen itself. It's in this moment that you can try to start installing.

It's been ages that we want to modify cnchi so it does not go on while it's being updated...

Same issue here on HP Pavilion Power 15, no matter which DE I choose. Cnchi updated to the latest version

Can someone provide the log file? It's created on the /tmp folder

karasu avatar Sep 10 '17 22:09 karasu

@karasu here is the log https://pastebin.com/Qy9Rh8bF

Although @asanluis reported that it happened when selecting English as language and Spanish as Timezone and keyboard layout, I am also able to reproduce it selecting Spanish as language, timezone and layout.

As both of us are using an HP laptop, can this be a compatibility issue?

I could finally install it, just needed to add the parameter nouveau.modeset=0. My laptop has a GeForce GTX 1050 mobile graphics card

Hi @CrisBarreiro I have the same issue also on my HP Pavilion Power 15. What did you exactly do to solve this problem? Where I have to put this parameter? Thanks for the help.

You have to add it as a boot parameter, just before quiet splash. I think you can edit boot parameters by pressing e instead of directly selecting Boot Antergos Live. Anyway, if you are still having issues or are not able to fix this one, please feel free to join the official Antergos in Spanish Telegram group (https://telegram.me/antergosesp), and I will be glad to help you.

@CrisBarreiro thanks! It finally work adding this parameter by pressing the 'e' key. I'll definitely join the group for future questions 👌

@karasu according to the comments from this issue and the Antergos in Spanish Telegram group, this seems to affect laptops using nvidia GTX 1050 (I don't know if it affects the entire series or just this specific model) Is there any possible fix from the Antergos team or the only solution is the one proposed above?

Any news on this issue? Can I install now Antergos using my GTX 1050?
