Wayland isn't being used on a fresh install

Open tenten8401 opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

Problem:

Wayland isn't being used on a fresh install of Antergos

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Install Antergos w/ open drivers
  2. echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE in terminal

Additional Notes:

Wayland and all that stuff does get installed by default, but isn't used at all. The hardware I'm testing on is as follows:

Laptop (Hybrid graphics):

  • Intel i5 5200U (Intel HD Graphics 5500)
  • GTX 940m

Desktop:

  • RX480 8G

I've also tested this on Gnome and KDE with no difference.

This problem has been with LightDM for a while it seems. To make wayland session work, you need to install GDM/SDDM as it was mentioned #808, which you already know, because you are the one, who wrote about it.
