[BUG] - Hotkey are slow to work

I noticed the same, approximately 1 second for the button effect to appear when using WiFi, I haven't tried with USB to compare.

Okay thanks for the clarification. I think today's issue was a wider Hangouts problem, I noticed the official Hangouts Chrome app also had connectivity issues.
