Difference between DFP-34X-2C3 and DFP-34X-2CY3?

Open ronhombre opened this issue 6 months ago • 8 comments

I recently bought the DFP-34X-2CY3(v8) and am wondering if there's any difference. Someone in the 8311 Discord told me the difference was in the manufacturing batch or something. I also saw here that there was a DFP-34X-2IY3 and the difference was the v8 had DDM.

Is it safe to use v6 firmware?

The DFP-34X-2CY3 web interface is different; it's more organized and simpler in my view.

I'm not sure if it's safe to update; I wouldn't risk updating it if it's working fine with the stock firmware.

I see. I haven't tried it yet since I'm still unsure about the LOID details of my ONT. I got everything by accessing root SSH (su_wap) except LOID which seems to be blank for some reason. I know my ISPs usual LOID so I can probably use that but just taking precautions since they might have a different config this time

My ISP doesn’t care about LOID; they just use the GPON SN, MAC address, device serial number, and some TR-069 nonsense.

That should also apply to my ISP since the LOID is usually 1234567890. The password is the same too

so debug it, why it doesn't authenticate

I fixed the issue by installing DFP 34X C2 firmware because it has older interface which is very simple and working perfectly. I thought DFP 34X C2's firmware would brick DFP 34X 2CY3 APC module but luckily it's working flawlessly. For some reason my internet connection is not working with new interface.
