App language is Chinese even if system is set to English

I have a Chinese market only tablet where the only two available languages are Chinese and US English. Every app installed in the system is correctly setting its own language to English, which is the one set system-wide. In Andronix, instead, most of the UI is shown in Chinese, like in this screenshot: Actually, this is a common problem among many apps with these Chinese versions of Android, so maybe they are using all the same not-so-correct API to determine user's language.
