Thanks for taking the time to help figure out the issue. Can you post your system specs? I cannot reproduce the error in chrome on x64 Ubuntu.

Sure.

  • Browser: Google Chrome Version 65.0.3325.181 (Official Build) (64-Bit)
  • OS: Debian Buster (4.16.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.16.5-1 (2018-04-29) x86_64 GNU/Linux)
  • Gui: xfce4
  • GPU: nvidia GTX 970 (official drivers + cuda) - also gaming on this machine so drivers definitely OK
  • RAM: 16gb DDR3 (non-ecc)
  • CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz

WebGL demos are also working on my machine

Thank you. This is great feedback on some potential hurdles of using this library reliably across systems. Can you run the following demo and look at the console: https://storage.googleapis.com/tfjs-examples/mnist-core/dist/index.html

It is a simple example direct from the official repo that will help pinpoint what exactly is breaking.

It seems like you found a genuine issue with TensorFlow.js. Please submit an issue on the official repo with what you provided me: https://github.com/tensorflow/tfjs. Thanks for contributing to open source development!
