visualization compression

dprof could probably be made significantly easier to use (read: search through) in many situations by simply compressing long time periods in which nothing changes.

I think that would give a poor impression of how long something takes.

I suppose this could also be solved by improved select ability of very small points on a large timeline.

Yes, I think we need to be able to zoom in on the overview too.
