Extension

Request or suggest a new feature!

I suggest to post the extension on the Microsoft Edge Addons store. It will be easier for Edge users to add the extension !

Ways to implement this!

Publish the extension here: https://aka.ms/publishedgeaddons

Can you work on this?

  • [ ] Yes
  • [X] No

I believe the correct URL is Port a Chrome extension to Microsoft Edge.

Please don’t post that. I can’t do that if you read my message

Try this

  1. Go to edge://extensions/
  2. Turn on "Allow extensions from other stores."

Try this

  1. Go to edge://extensions/
  2. Turn on "Allow extensions from other stores."

This is not a solution. This option is blocked in a lot of browsers. The extension must go into the edge Store their is not Alternative currently.

This works too https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/kellyc-show-youtube-disli/kdjonhbaoaghhppmglnhaigpabhnmhgi

Note: This is not the official extension

Thanks I tried it but for some reason it just doesn’t show me the dislikes. When I install the chrome extension on my private edge browser it works.

Are you able to install any extensions?

If not then probably your work pc was configured like that.

While many Edge users can install extensions from Chrome Web Store, the best option is still to publish to Edge's Extension store to avoid malicious actors republishing the extension on Edge's Store and tricking average users into installing their version instead of the official one.

Imagine an average user unwittingly go to Edge's Store and installing it from there without really checking things. With many malicious actors in Extension Stores, people should no doubt search for any extensions' project page on a search engine and go from there - but many average users still search from the store. The button to open Edge's store is right in the browser. And for this extension to work best it needs as many users as possible - which includes average users just looking for extensions to view Dislike counts from the browser's extension store. They don't know which one is the best, most popular, or which one they should use. This issue applies to all browsers.

Overall, I feel like Edge users seems to be largely dismissed/ignored. A recent example is the reaction roles in the Discord server. Note that there are other Chromium browsers such as Brave and Opera but not Edge. All of this just make it feel more like Edge users are third-class users.

I agree 200% !

Remember: As an Safari or Firefox user you get much more discriminized…

Not to mention publishing to Edge extension store is totally free. However in my experience they are the worst in approval times.

e.g. I recently launched an extension and worked to make it available in all browser extension stores. Google, Apple, Opera and Mozilla all approved it within a day (Opera's dev portal is quite buggy though, I did face an issue with my extension mysteriously disappearing for a few hours once it got approved) while MS takes 7 business days and even says that once you submitted it for review.
