Distant Horizons and Methane
is there any way to also use Distance Horizons Mod with Methane? https://modrinth.com/mod/distanthorizons
currently, Methane just disables the Distance Horizons Mod. would love to have both run at the same time.
i managed to get it somewhat working when i disabled all the fog in the config
Distant horizons will only generate with Methane toggled OFF. This might be a tough problem
i decided to do some more digging into this, and it randomly just... worked while i was afk? Not quite sure what happened, as i haven't really looked into how Distant Horizions works all that much, but it is interesting.
@bobbob215 so I've found a sort of "fix" for the time being. Toggle Methane OFF, then ON, re-join your world, and everything seems to work fine. It seems like whatever plauges Sodium, also causes this to be randomly start working.
- needs to be tested on 1.20

Doesn't work in 1.20 either
This is now an issue on the Distant Horizons GitLab. A workaround that I use is also available there. (comment)

The issue is that Methane doesn't create a lightmap (and couldn't do it properly until 3.0.0), so weird things happened with LOD chunks. On 3.0.0+, you can get Distant Horizons working pretty well by toggling on then off using the keybind.
FWIW, Voxy works flawlessly out of the box with Methane, LOD's also have their lighting skipped properly by Methane. (LOD's don't adapt to dynamic shading, so turn that off.)
I know this isn't a fix to DH specifically, but it's work looking at in the meantime.
