Analyze tool

Open MercifulZebra opened this issue 4 years ago • 7 comments

The analyze tool from McEdit was very useful when planning large builds and you needed an estimate of the materials required.

Ideally it would simply print out the blocks and their respective quantities of the selection, either to a dialogue window or even just to a file.

Any update on this feature... i was following advice from MCEdit and found my way here. I have lost a shulker box in my world and would love this feature to help me find it. Thank in advance. Any way to get this feature promoted?

+1 I really need a program that can do this.

this isn't directly related but i wrote a script using amulet-core to find a specific rly rare ore in a modpack I was playing. with a little adaptation, it could be easily used to count instances of each block type in a given coordinate range: https://gist.github.com/rayzr522/3225db7a5d5aeb813e85ab66709674d7

don't mean to derail this issue, but you're welcome to use my code as a jumping off point if any of you want to try and write a small script to solve this while the devs work on implementing it into Amulet itself!
