Casting Sleep to Novice of Baal Cadar leads to stuck of hero

Describe the bug

In the Sect Camp when you try to cast spell for Baal Cadar (you need to demonstrate some magic to him) and cast Sleep to one of his novices as suggested, the spell does not work and after some time you losing any control over the hero (in the end of video I trying to move but cannot). Sometimes you even cannot open menu because ESC does nothing, and sometimes even Ctrl+Alt+Del or Ctrl+ESC does not work so you cannot open Task Manager to kill the game and you need to hard reboot your computer. Interesting, that cast stucks when you try to cast it to any nearest NPC in the camp except the Baal Cadar itself.

If rename / delete <install_dir>\DATA\G1CP.vdf, then cast is successful (video):

Expected behavior

The behavior should be as in the second video

Steps to reproduce the issue

1. Get the Sleep scroll
2. Approach to the Baal Cadar
3. Cast Sleep to one of novices around him
4. Wait up to 10 seconds until you lose control

Additional context

I downloaded a torrent with repack that is named "Gothic 1.08k (Union 1.0m) Repack" with Russian localization (I cannot remember where I fount it, that was a year ago or something). Actually, it contains two localizations on choice -- Russobit-M and Snowball. I play in Snowball version. How launcher looks:
