"Completed Missions" marked as "Failed Missions".

Hello, everyone!

I would like to report the following bug:

Describe the bug: This issue triggers after performing certain steps that involve multiple quests. Quests related to the "Admission to the Old Camp" quest, are moved to the "Failed Missions" tab after joining the New Camp. However, those quests were completed long before joining the New Camp and were displayed in the "Completed Missions" journal tab.

Expected behavior: Quests that have been successfully completed remain displayed in the "Completed Missions" journal tab.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Initiate and progress through the "Admission to the Old Camp" quest.
  2. Complete quests related to the Old Camp, such as, "Thorus' Quest" or "Vanished Guard", etc.
  3. Initiate and progress through the "Admission to the New Camp" quest.
  4. Initiate and progress through the "Test of Faith" quest.
  5. Travel to the Old Mine and bring Ian's "List" to Lares and then take it back to Diego.
  6. Complete the "Test of Faith" quest by talking with Diego in the Old Camp.
  7. Ask Diego about your esteem within the Old Camp.
  8. Notice the "New Journal Entry" string and open the Journal.
  9. The "Admission to the Old Camp" quest has been moved to the "Completed Missions" journal tab.
  10. Travel to the New Camp and inform Lares about the List from the Old Mine.
  11. Ask Lares "Is that enough for me to join you?"
  12. Successfully join the New Camp and open the Journal.
  13. Notice that the following quests have been marked as "Failed Missions":
  • "Recipe of the Sect"
  • "New Fence for Fisk"
  • "Test of Faith"
  • "Thorus' Quest"
  • "Vanished Guard"
  • "Admission to the Old Camp" (it should be intended, however, it was marked as completed before)
  • "Admission to the Swamp Camp" (should be intended)

Additional context Kindly note that the "Admission to the Old Camp" quest is marked as completed after performing the first 9 steps, however, I did not talk with Thorus or Gomez, in other words, the character is not officially admitted to the camp. Also note that the "Guild" is still marked as "none" at that point. Additionally, if the "List" is delivered to Diego without first showing it to Lares, the user will not be able to join the New Camp, the game will simply show the "Condition for admission: Level 5" string, this could be intended, however, the character Level is currently 13.

Thanks for reporting! We will have to check if this behavior can really been seen as a bug or or is rather intended.

To me it makes sense that the admission quests are failed once joining one of the camps. However, I agree, the admission to the Old Camp quest should logically then only be marked as completed after actually talking to Thorus/Gomes. The other, related quests should only be set to failed, if they have not been completed before.

Implementation-wise, it should be relatively easy to prevent any previously completed quests to be suddenly marked as failed in general. To change when the admission to the Old Camp quest is marked as completed (i.e. not after talking to Diego but after talking to Thorus or Gomez even) will be technically possible, but I think it will be very tricky not to break a mod that may have changed something around these quests. We could give it a try, but I think it's not worth it. The quest being marked as completed and then pushed to failed is not a urgent bug. It could even be logically argued as: The player is indeed admitted to the Old Camp, (because they don't know of his betrayal) but when then deciding for the New Camp, the admission is voided.
