String issues related to "Baloro's Weapon" quest.

Open Quintus24 opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Hello, everyone!

I would like to report the following bugs:

Describe the bug: The issues can be encountered in the Free Mine if the user starts the "Baloro's Weapon" quest. Upon completing the quest, the journal is not update with any new information or with a resolution. After confronting Baloro and defeating him, the "END." string is displayed as "ENDE." in the dialogue box.

Expected behavior: The Journal is correctly updated with the "New Journal Entry" information. The "ENDE." string is displayed as "END.".

Steps to reproduce the issues:

  1. Travel to the Free Mine and initiate the "Baloro's Weapon" quest.
  2. Fulfill the quest requirements and return to NPC Baloro.
  3. Talk with Baloro, complete the quest and notice the "New Journal Entry" string.
  4. Press "N", check the Journal and notice there is no "New Journal Entry" related to the quest.
  5. Talk with Baloro, confront him about the quest and defeat him in combat.
  6. After he regains consciousness, talk with him again and notice the "ENDE." string.

Additional context As a side effect, even though the quest is completed, it remains displayed in the "Current Missions" tab. The quest was initiated and completed in Chapter 1.

Attaching some screenshots for more clear information.

  1. Quest Completed. Quest Completed

  2. Journal entry for the quest. Quest Entry

  3. The "Current Missions" tab. Baloro's Weapon @ Current Missions

  4. The "ENDE." string displayed in the dialogue box. ENDE

Thank You and Best Regards! Quintus24

Thanks for reporting! We will have to investigate this one as I don't see a bug in the scripts yet:

Also there should not be a "." after the "ENDE" or the "END" option in the german or the english localization.

Small note on that to avoid confusion: The "ENDE." is not a typo; it is the engine's default, if no dialog option is available. It is a symptom of a missing END-dialog instance.
