Is it better than gigapixel?
Hi there! I'm trying to increase video footage, is this is better than gigapixel?
VapourSynth has quite a few advantages over Gigapixel. For example, if your footage is really blocky or noisy, you can process out the artifacts with regular filters before upscaling it, all in one step. As for the upscaling itself, it depends on the model you use, but there are a huge number of models to choose from on the game upscale wiki and the mxnet repo.
FYI this installer, tutorials, etc. are still under construction! ESRGAN functionality, in particular, hasn't made it to the public branch yet. But if you have a sample of the video you're trying to upscale and don't mind being a guinea pig, I'd be happy to take a look.
