Core dumped when trying to use the --screen-root option

Open AverageDood opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

OS is Arch Linux with linux-zen kernel and Gnome 44.2, and linux-wallpaperengine has been installed through the AUR. When testing the workshop item on a window, everything goes flawless, but when trying to use the --screen-root option to actually apply it, the program complains about not being able to fins "../share/ directory, and not being able to bind the required interfaces.

I attach a .txt file with the terminal output. terminal-log.txt

I have the exact same issue, same error and log. I use an Intel-based laptop with Wayland/Archlinux/Zen Kernel/Gnome 44.2.

May be 2 separate issues, see #169 .

Seems to be related to wayland initialization, might be missing some messaging loops for it to properly work under gnome. I'll take a look soon-ish.
