Add a notice to the OpenDevin fork redirecting to the current project
Many sites and articles still refer to the project as OpenDevin, so users searching for that name may end up on the OpenDevin fork and download an outdated version.
Please update the README of the OpenDevin fork with a clear and highly visible notice stating that the fork is no longer maintained, and that the official, up-to-date repository is OpenHands (with a link).
This will help prevent confusion and ensure users find the current project.
Thank you for the heads-up!
I'm a bit confused which repo do you mean, because I think the OpenDevin has been moved/renamed to this repo, so the old repo doesn't exist anymore. Please point out to me if I'm missing some clone somewhere?
The original account, also named OpenDevin, is indeed not maintained anymore. I added a README to point to us. Thank you!
Thanks for the clarification.
The repo is https://github.com/AI-App/OpenDevin.OpenDevin . The owner name (AI-App) makes it look like some kind of organization behind the project, which can mislead new users searching for OpenDevin.
Apologies for the confusion on my part. I only started using the project recently.
If there’s nothing that can be done about it, feel free to close the issue. Thanks again!
Ahh, I see, thank you. There might be more such forks around, not everyone synchronized. 56 repositories have "OpenDevin" in their name, according to GitHub.
Oddly, I see that account also has a newer fork https://github.com/AI-App/All-Hands-AI.OpenHands 🤷
I honestly think we don't need to worry about it, it does show it's a fork, though I see your point.
Let's ask folks in slack.
(please feel free to find the invitation in the main readme, if you haven't joined that yet 😀)
