How to use with viewbox?

Hi All, I'm trying to use free transform with a viewbox used for pan and zoom.

I works well except the object being dragged doesn't keep up with the mouse while dragging.

I had a look and I couldn't see anyway to set zoom scale to offset drag position.

Any help much appreciated.
