Camera Offline Compatibility - Tapo C220 (Or Kasa/similar)

Open distinctjuggle opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

My questions are all go2rtc related, so I hope this is an appropriate "issue" to post. I apologize upfront if this isn't a valid place to ask this. I don't know a better place. If such a place exists, please let me know.

  1. Do all Tapos (specifically the C220 I guess) function with the Go2rtc's tapo interface for 2 way audio?
  2. Are the Tapo cameras functional offline? I have seen a lot of different discussion around them, and particularly how some recent firmware may have broken their interoperability with go2rtc/ONVIF. Do they require an initial setup online for any functionality first, or am I confusing different aspects of this camera?
  3. I am sort of considering some of tapo/TP-Links other products as well. Are there any known models which have known compatibility issues, specifically with RTSP/ONVIF streams, and go2rtc 2 way audio support?
  4. Am I correct in my understanding that Kasa cameras don't have 2 way audio support from go2rtc? Honestly I'm having a hard time understanding the Kasa vs Tapo product lines - I think the Tapo ones are a bit more premium? Not sure.

Thank you very much!
