Maybe you have problems with your local network. Bad router. Or many WiFi devices. Or low WiFi signal. It's better to use auto mode in this case
v2 made several attempts to reconnect. v3 does only one. Distance to device is not always main indicator. v2 also using old zeroconf library functions.
Because good devices in good network shouldn't disconnects at all... And users with problem networks shouldn't use mode local. With new logic really dead device will go offline after 15...
