niri/workspaces: can't scroll through workspaces with mousewheel

I wanna hover over the niri/workspace module and use mousewheel-up/down the cycle through the current workspaces. I remember back when I used hyprland, it was a simple setting to change: "disable-scroll": false in the hyprland/workspace section.

However this doesn't seem to work for niri/workspaces. I looked through the man page of niri/workspaces to see if "on-scroll-up" and "on-scroll-down" is avaible, sadly its not. I also checked my niri config if a standalone mousewheel-up/down bind is set, which may could interfere. But thats not the case, only mousewheel binds with modifiers are set.

Am I missing something? I'm not quite sure if its a configuration mistake or an actual bug or currently missing feature.

I just had the same idea and it works for me like this in niri (currently on niri main branch, not 25.08. but it should work with 25.08)

can confirm it not working on workspaces, though.
