Crash when attempting to connect pipes

[Title] occurs when attempting to connect two pipes of any kind (be it gold/gold, wood/gold, iron/gold tested). Initially thought it was caused by OptiFine, crashlog 1: https://pastebin.com/HFLPyU6N

Once removed OptiFine and OptiFabric, the same crash occurs with the following crashlog: https://pastebin.com/nLCnBxj4
