Not intuitive enough

The text field should have accompanying button(s) to save/reset, currently the only way to reset/clear is by focusing the text field and hitting Backspace, and there is no "saved" indication whatsoever.
When the desired keybinding is pressed by the user, the text field is still focused until the parent window loses focus, this needs to be improved.
