Pinned tabs stuck muted
System Details

Problem The unmute/mute functionality seems inconsistent with pinned tabs. If you have music playing in a pinned tab and you navigate away from it, clicking to mute the pinned tab works but then it seems to enter a state where it cannot be unmuted. Right clicking and opening the context menu shows it as still unmuted ("mute site" is displayed), selecting "mute" entry changes the context menu between "mute site" and "unmute site" but the site stays muted. The only way to resolve it seems to be to unpin, unmute, then repin.
@tylerstonge Are you sure this doesn't also occur in Chromium at the same revision?
Also experiencing this on 130.0.6723.174 x64 (Windows 11).
To reproduce:
- Open new tab. Play any sound (YouTube, X, Spotify, etc.)
- Pin that tab.
- Mute that tab.
- Click another open tab.
- Try unmuting that original tab. You are unable to.
You can unpin the tab to regain the mute/unmute function. One re-pinned you can reproduce the issue over and over. The next action (mute or unmute) works but any following does not.
Was coming here to make this same issue post lol, good thing I checked first! I can also confirm it happens on the latest version running Windows 11.
Additionally, another "fix" for me was just a simple relaunch
