Gallery app is blank

recently i installed ThoriumOS on my device but apparently the built-in Gallery app is empty, it shows a blank page (white on light theme and dark gray on dark theme)

opening DevTools shows a really empty html page, and the main.html has some references to app_main.js, but such js does not load (according to the Sources tab in DevTools)

i also tried doing this on my install drive, went to guest mode and same thing, i might try replacing the .img on the boot drive with a clean one and see if the issue was from my boot drive failing in install or the gallery app is really broken (but im guessing the latter)
