I would like an offline solution
If you want to migrate data in Chrome to Thorium, you can try to directly replace Thorium's user data folder with Chrome's user data folder and see if the data can be migrated correctly, but due to Chrome's machine ID binding and data encryption, the data on top of Chrome may not be able to be fully migrated to Thorium, you may also need to manually migrate the data that didn't get migrated.
To add the ability to import Chrome data to the Thorium browser would require us to write the corresponding code and make sure that the newly written code can properly read and process user data from Chrome, but since Chrome is closed source software, the specifics are not something we have much control over.

In my experiments the so-called offline solution - using Ungoogled chromium - manually transferring the entire User Data folder to:
- Thorium;
- Brave;
- Bromite build tools.
I have no positive success. Only bookmarks are always transferred successfully. Extensions never transfer, no matter what tricks I tried (Disable Encryption and Disable Machine ID).
In my topic I have described in detail: https://github.com/Alex313031/Thorium-Win/issues/55 - but there has been no activity there for two weeks and in the last paragraph of my comment there I have asked a question, but still no answer .
If you have custom flags - it will be difficult to transfer them to any other Chromium based browser. The probability of setting the flags one by one is very high.
From my experience - you have to install each extension one by one, yes I know there are extensions that don't have import/export settings. It's even more unfortunate and discouraging that there is no porting of settings. But this has not stopped me from time to time to experiment, but most times when I write and ask questions - there are no answers.
I agree that Chromium development is kind of a side track and not the leading path for users around the world - to be able to menu and/or manually port our settings - all our settings + flags + extensions +... Corporations are aggressively pushing us force us to use online solutions, without the possibility of an offline alternative. Corporations desperately want to own our data, but some of us don't want to be donors to them.
@Rusenche @fenopa You should be able to copy and migrate user profiles between chrome, chromium, and thorium.
Migrating between these and ungoogled chromium or brave can cause unforseen side effects, corruption, etc.
