System Details

  • OS: s23 ultra
  • Thorium Version: Version 126.0.6478.246

Problem Thorium crashing after using it once. Like installing it then using it for a bit and saving it for later, then opening it back up and it keeps crashing. Only way to fix it is to clear its data and restart it back from the beginning with everything gone.

Screenshots None D:

Additional Notes nope just the one problem and it keeps crashing. Tbh this one of the most best Chrome forks outthere with the UI still intacted while keeping it simple and privacy protected :D

App is unusable. Crashes on fresh install every time the user closes the browser and then tries to relaunch it. Android 12 MiUI

I can reproduce this issue locally, and according to the logs, the problem seems to be related to the safe browsing feature. I have suggested to Alex to completely disable the safe browsing feature for the Android version.

Also happens for me on A15. Caught this in logs, indeed some line about "Safe Browsing":

FATAL EXCEPTION: Thread-3
Process: org.chromium.thorium, PID: 22497
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: No implementation found for void J.N.MSkFYnu9(long, int, int, int[], int, long) (tried Java_J_N_MSkFYnu9 and Java_J_N_MSkFYnu9__JII_3IIJ) - is the library loaded, e.g. System.loadLibrary?

Clearing cache/storage allows app to launch once again, but sadly disabling "Safe Browsing" in Settings > Privacy Security won't prevent it from crashing 😞 Indeed completely removing this feature altogether (on Android at least) would be best. Don't trust handing Google list of sites I visit, so they can harvest it and deem them "safe"/"unsafe".
