The advice to use a version tag is a good one, but that does not mean that `latest` can be broken :)

I agree. I think let's check scalar types first (both comparing and sorting by them), then documents, then arrays (that are most difficult)

Removing that code makes nested array tests fail. Let's remove support for nested arrays first
