Keep scrolling state when navigating through the application?

For example: when navigating through the home page, if a user clicks on an event (going to the detailed event page) and then goes back to the home page, it would probably be nice to return to the same scrolling point.

As part of this, it would probably make sense to add a back button on pages where it would come handy. For instance, when browsing users and clicking on one to see their profile, it would be nice to have a back button that takes you back to the users page with the same search parameters and on the same scrolling point.
