Card Set Codes Limited to English

Open Immortep99 opened this issue 11 months ago • 1 comments

Currently, all card sets appear to only include English country codes (e.g., SET-EN001).

Issue: This limitation might reduce usability for non-English users or hinder localization efforts.

Proposed Solution: Consider adding support for additional country codes or making the country code configurable per set.

@Immortep99 Unfortunately, the entire localization would need to be completely revised.

The set codes differ in each language, and not all set codes have a language identifier, so simply replacing "EN" in the set code isn't possible. Additionally, only the set names and rarities in German are identical to English. All other languages have their own set codes as well as localized set names and rarities (also with some unique country specific rarity codes) and even own unqiue sets, like some starter packs. Cards can only be uniquely identified across all languages by combining the print code, localized set name, localized rarity, localized set code, and language.

So, small improvements won’t make a difference here. The entire localization needs a complete overhaul. As a User i would vote for a re-work.

@AlanOC91

Are there any plans to add support for different Set Codes in other languages?

I have seen that format can identify TCG and OCG but it would be beneficial if the system could also search for a specific set code and identify the trading card game it belongs to.
