[BUG] Sharing images not working multiple images
Which app is your issue for
Document Scanner
Version
Latest as of Octob 27
What platform are you using?
Android
OS Version
16
What happened?
- Select multiple documents within OSS Document Scanner
- Share Images
- Share
- Say if 12 items are selected it goes to export 12 items but only 6 get saved. It seems to use Image1 as the filename for 6 images so it overwrites itself

Saving to gallery option uses a different jpeg filename, so all 12 images will get saved if I save to gallery, then from the gallery share the images
@rightsaidfred99 i am not use i understand. The issue is while sharing (for other apps) or exporting (saving images to memory)? Because if you use share to share with other apps there is no saving and filename (like sharing by sms). Could you detail?
Sure,
Here are repro instructions
- Open App
- Select multiple documents already scanned
- 3 Dot menu > Share Images
- Share (Share again)
- Point to an SMB or local storage
That's where the error begins. It's the second Share where the filenames seem to overwrite each other so you can't seem to share multiple images this way
@rightsaidfred99 ok i think i see the issue. But how do you get that smb/local storage entry in the share menu? Does not work for me. I am thinking about this and i dont think you should use share for that but export. Indeed sharing is meant to create temporary files for sharing with mail, sms ... And the base name is the same for each share, which explains the overwrite on the next share. But i am not 100% sure i should to try and find a fix for this because sharing does not seem like the right tool here. If you use export it will use unique file names
I'm not sure what's going on, but I have Share 1 option, Then Share 2 option comes up if I want to share to local storage. That's when the rename issue comes in
