Anchors jump to end of file

After setting an anchor with the anchors plugin, I often find that the anchor has moved to the end of the file by itself. I believe this happens when the file is reloaded because of e.g. changing the Git branch or git restoreing my uncommitted changes away, but I'm not yet sure.
