Sorry for the late reply. Are you running at least version 1.7.4? I recall fixing a similar issues to this before.

Might be doable. The heads are separate on the NPCs and most of the headgear is a separate component.

I've added instructions on post patch fixes. You have to clear the app's cache and rebuild the mod.

Try deleting the settings file in user [AppData]\Roaming\Aloy's Adjustments folder It should get you going. I'll look into the issue.

Could be a version think. I'm trying to maintain compatibility but its getting tricky. Are you still having issues with it?

Yeah I've been trying to fix this without skipping the cutscene. Not going so well. If you play as Aloy before going to bed it wont crash.

What the path in the settings for 'Game Folder'? The app tries to detect the game folder, doesn't work well if the game wasn't installed with steam. But manually assigning...

I don't see how it would show up in the open dialog but not in windows for the same folder. What's the full path in the Open Dialog that shows...

Haven't looked into the weapon model. Might be doable. I'll check it out.
