sry that i didn't notice and ask beforehand. `-1` is also a [valid value](https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/blob/master/video/out/gpu/video.c#L509-L510), eg no dithering. should we rather use `-2` or something else in that case?

@bsolar17 try with different options of `--macos-render-timer`, eg `precise` and `system`.
it is like an endless fight against Apple's whims to change their iconography erratically (over the years). i do get the problem and am not completely against at modernising it...

did `video-sync=display-resample` work around this problem? to me this sounds like a general problem how we render and update. a test video file would be nice too.

i don't think this is a viable option. obfuscating files or file paths might also obfuscate the source of certain problems. invalid chars, obviously read/write permission problems, decomposed/precomposed strings, different...
you won't get automated uploads of log files, because github doesn't support it. only if logs would be inlined as text or uploaded to a third party added as link....
