need more information about the message when installing "huge app"

Open giiutfff opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

This app is huge (>150MB). With huge apps there's a chance (the bigger the app size, the higher) that installation will hang but app will still take up storage space that you won't be able to reclaim without using root or doing factory reset

Sounds intimidating, however apps do get this big nowadays(eg. Google search app is bigger than 150MB).

A more detailed explanation is needed. Maybe with a solution. (Does Google know this problem?)

Why I can't help laughing😂 Sorry.

Are you installing some obscure game (ie. not available on Google Play)? I once tried some games huge like this (back in pre aab days). The system ui crashed during installation. But after a few reboot (no other actions taken), the storage space did come back usable. And in the end, the game was successful installed with patience waiting for the freezing screen at the installation process for a while (actually half an hour). But I never liked that game, and removed it after playing less than ten minutes.

Hope this might give some help before the developer responds.

The app warns I can't reclaim the space unless I have root. But how do I reclaim the space if I do have root? What do I need to delete? Something more reliable than rebooting a couple of times and hoping for the best?

Sure, it's reliable. But the app warns I can't delete the files unless I have root, but doesn't say what to delete if I have root.
