Dates not appearing next to 'written ' underneath post titles

It appears that Octopress have removed the '/plugins/date.rb' file from their source, so 'post.date_formatted' returns an empty string. I've reverted back to the version of '/source/_includes/post/date.html' to the version before commit 9726215 and the dates have reappeared.
