Expected Behavior
Have internet with DNS Protection ON every time when the phone is woken from sleep.
Actual Behavior
@AdguardTeam i'v been using the pro version for a while now but after the latest update i decided it's time to turn on the DNS protection. The problem i've noticed is that every time(when on wifi) i put the pfone to sleep,after few hours(it's inconsistent) when i wake it up there is no internet and the onliest solution so far to fix this is to switch some of the settings on and off,this way AG restarts the internet. I've tried all the tunnel modes,i've tried the option that restarts the internet with no luck. Resent Activity shows that nothing is blocked,still,despite that there is no internet. I assume you'd ask me to send logs but the thing is that when the problem occurred and once i switch to debug logs,AG restarts the internet and i'm back online. Hard to reproduce unless i leave the debug logs ON and the note under that option advising not to do that. Please advise and try to reproduce it on your end. Thank you as allways 👍
P.S. I'm using Claudflare DoT as dns and under Bootstrap Servers i added 1.1.1.1 In case this info is relevant.
Possibly what I've been experiencing.
All aforementioned dropouts were experienced on wifi, with the only way to regain connectivity was to trigger the reconnection of AdGuard's VPN connection.
And just FYI cause i read that FaceTime doesn't work when using Full Tunnel Mode.You can add Viber also to that list as well. Calls are recieved but it's not possible to make any 👍
UPDATE: I set the phone in Full Tunnel mode for the past three days and didn't experience any lost of internet but due to not able to use Viber,went back to Split Tunnel and this morning after waking the phone up there was no internet connection again. Hope this helps 👍
We highly value obtaining debug logs from your device to identify the issue, so please enable debug logs and wait until the problem is reproduced. Please note that this may slightly increase resource consumption on your device. This is the general notice for users: when everything is functioning fine, there is no need to enable logging, but when an issue occurs, it's important to enable logging to help us pinpoint the problem. Once the bug is reproduced, please remember to disable it.
To troubleshoot this issue, we need to get the app logs. Here's what we need you to do:
- Open Settings --> General --> Turn Advanced mode on --> Advanced settings --> Turn Debug logs switch on;
- Reproduce the issue and remember the exact time when it happened;
- Disable "DNS Protection";
- Open the settings --> Support --> Export logs;
- System popup will be opened --> Choose "Mail" app
- Enter
[email protected]as a recipient; - Mention this issue number in the subject and add the time the issue was reproduced at.
I also have the same problem in the same conditions (I had the problem before version 4.5), I have to deactivate the wifi and turn it back on to get the internet back, radical solution turning off DNS but it's too restrictive for me to do without DNS.
I'm using DNS AdGuard -> server: DNS-over-QUIC I've tried them all and I've got the same problem.
@jslawler what happened? Why did you remove all your postings here? Reason i'm asking is,due to not able to reproduce the issue in the past few days i didn't bother turning on the debug log and just want it to see if somebody else sent logs to the dev team.That's all 👍
@jslawler thank you for sending your logs! We got them
Want to tell i have the same problem, disconnection who lead to missed notification (like the phone is totally disconnected), so unusable that i had to disable it completely
Please, describe what internet loss looks like. Do you have VPN icon in the status bar? Do you lose Wi-Fi connection?

Normally when the iPhone sleep time to time he gather info and generate notification, in my case (don't know other), all those fail and only work again when I wake up my phone and wait a little (I suspect it's reconnecting at that time).
We will try to solve this problem for the next major release!
I'm having the same problem on my family phone with the iPhone 8 Plus running the current version, iOS 16 since iOS 17 isn't compatible with the iPhone 8 Plus. I'm using AdGuard Private DNS setup in the AdGuard Pro for iOS, and the server becomes disconnected when I'm in my Adguard Private DNS account where it says "Not connected for 8 hours". The only way to fix it is to establish a connection, either by turning wifi off and then on again or reestablishing AdGuard VPN, at least how I get it to connect again.
Is this still being looked into?
The AdGuard DNS protection feature is too painful to use when switching between mobile and wifi to use it due to the loss of internet, and has been now for 7 months.
