`(DNS) Filter Editor` — Can't scroll filtered results (without a click beforehand)
() Steps to reproduce
- Right-click on the AdGuard systray icon > Tools >
(DNS) Filter editor
. :arrow_right_hook: Remark: For this test, don't reuse an existing window that you might have. - Select any (long) filter.
- Notice that you can scroll through the content of this filter. :heavy_check_mark:
- Type any character(s) in the
Search rule
field. - Notice that you can't scroll through the filtered results. :heavy_multiplication_x:
Expected behavior
You can scroll through the filtered results using your mouse wheel.
Actual behavior
You can't. Unless you click anywhere in the user interface first (it can even be the Search rule
field that currently has focus).
:raising_hand_man: Thanks! | AdGuard 7.10.2 (latest stable) on Windows 10 Pro 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1889)
@contribucious could you record a video with this problem? Everything seems to be working well.
@Aydinv13
No problem. Wasn't done initially because I didn't find (and still can't find) a basic/up-to-date/free (and ideally libre) software, complementary to ShareX, that allows me to just display mouse events on the screen (and particularly mouse scrolls) but as soon as you see me shaking the pointer up and down, I am scrolling up/down at the same time. :relaxed:
:eyes: Interesting fact 1: Once I do a search, my mouse pointer becomes this one ("default" on this image) everywhere on the interface, including on the search field(s) (as visible in the video) instead of this one ("text" on this same image). And also on the "Filtering rules syntax" link instead of this one ("pointer" on this same image too).
:eyes: Interesting fact 2: A click anywhere in the interface (on this video, in the Search rule
field) BUT ALSO on the title bar instead is OK to restore the situation — i.e. scrollable results again, mouse pointer becomes "text" on the search field(s), "pointer" on the link and "default" elsewhere, as expected.
:warning: As indicated in point 1, please close any existing (DNS) Filter Editor
window before performing the steps described in Steps to reproduce
.
:information_source: Problem reproducible on another machine (a quite different one) and on mine (even after disabling certain software that could potentially interfere + reboot performed). So, maybe see with another tester in the team.

@gork7777
Hello VasqueZ, :relaxed:
To remove the possibility of interference with other software, would it be possible to see from your side if you are able to reproduce this as well? I would be curious to see that!
Thank you in advance, if you can! 🙂
@contribucious Hey, it's working fine after type a character in search field. I can scroll with the wheel.
@gork7777 Perfect. Thank you very much for your quick test!
@Aydinv13 It is therefore probably a common element between the two PCs where I was able to test (and reproduce) this. Perhaps however related to the .NET version installed (as UI related), etc. But first, let's just see if someone on the team can reproduce this.
@contribucious Have the same issue on my pc
@mozartinio Hi! Thank you for your test and your responsiveness. 🙂
@Aydinv13 I therefore let you see this internally (QA team), it will be simpler.
To be noted: Unlike me, @gork7777 is on the nightly channel AFAIK (according to his regular videos, including this recent one).
UPDATE — 2022/11/04 :mag:
First machine:
AdGuard 7.10.2
(issue always reproducible) updated to 7.11 nightly 24
(issue never reproducible). :heavy_check_mark:
Second machine:
AdGuard 7.10.2
(issue always reproducible) updated to 7.11.1 (stable)
(issue never reproducible). :heavy_check_mark:
Seems that bug has gone, I'm closing this issue then. Thank you for a feedback!
Yes.
Thank you all! :relaxed:
