About delimiting characters and double-click text selection

Open contribucious opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Hi there!,

A small one here. :relaxed:

(Perhaps this is the expected/desired behaviour but I don't think so. Consistency in everything related to editing is better I would say personally.)

Thanks in advance.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Filter Editor and in User rules add this fictive rule: /fr-be.custom_ads.js.
  2. Now double-click on the word ads (in inline editing mode).

Expected behavior

custom_ads is selected.

:arrow_right_hook: … As is currently the case when you open the "Advanced Filter Editor" by clicking on the pencil at the bottom (see screenshot B).

Actual behavior

ads is selected (see screenshot A).

Additional remarks

:bulb: It might be a good idea to check for consistency also in:

  • Filter Editor > Search rule field,
  • Filtering Log > Log search field,
  • etc.

And this, on the different products. See below for basic tests on some.

Test on other products

  1. Stand-alone browser extension (3.6.17 on Firefox 97.0.1, both latest stable). :arrow_right: Text area only there and it's OK.

  2. Android app (4.0 nightly 32, latest nightly). :arrow_right: Editing a single rule or using Edit filter = same problematic result. Except the selection there is a third variation: be.custom_ads.js — as this screenshot shows.

Your environment

  • AdGuard 7.9 (latest stable) on Windows 10 Pro 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1526)
