AG will randomly quit working. When re-enabled it works for a while then disconnects itself. This problem was also occurring with the previous version.

Same with the phone versions of Android (started at least since v4.12, still persists on v4.13 Nightly 9). AdGuard just stops working randomly while showing it is still up and running. The only fix is to Quit and open it back. It might even crash the first time it is opened after quitting.
UPD: Seems to be related to https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForAndroid/issues/5822
Agreed. My ad guard on my Android phone also disconnects randomly.

Thanks for the reply. I will follow your instructions. As far as when it happens I don't know exactly. I don't view the device daily but when I turn it on randomly I noticed that Adguard is not working. The way I tell that it is not working is when I look at the settings and noticed that VPN is not enabled.

When I attempt to send logs from the app using the steps you detailed I get the "Failed to sends logs" error message. AG quit working last night sometime between 9PM and 6AM EST. Please advice. Thanks
One more thing.. the steps are a little different to share the logs then the info posted. Collect logs: Settings -> General -> Advanced -> Export logs and system info. Under General there is no Advance option.
I only see: Settings, Support, Share Logs as the only means to share the logs. Running AG for Android TV v4.12.77
Another observation. Last night on the Android cell phone AG was working, this morning AG is not working also.

The steps in https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForAndroid/issues/5875#issuecomment-3421922741 are for Android TV, and the steps in this https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForAndroid/issues/5875#issuecomment-3421949859 are for Android smartphone.
When I attempt to send logs from the app using the steps you detailed I get the "Failed to sends logs" error message.
It seems the sending error on Android TV is caused by the log size. The logs exceed the size limit. Could you please collect logs from your phone following the steps in https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForAndroid/issues/5875#issuecomment-3421949859?
@Versty Thanks for the new instructions. The phone issue has been identified per AG as being caused by the phone running out of memory and Android unloading apps to free up memory. As for the issue with Android TV it has not been determined what is causing AG to get disconnected. I will have to wait for it to happen again. I'm home one day a week so will have to wait until the next failure to occur.
@enduser1 If you mean when the Android system unloads apps to free up RAM, Android TV can do the same, since these devices typically have even less RAM than phones.
So, any news on this?
I have to wait for Android TV to close AG in order to submit the service logs. And for me I also have to wait until I'm home since I'm away 6 days out of seven to catch this when it happens and submit the error logs. It has not failed in the last two weeks. As soon as it does I will submit the log for review. I'm eager to find out what's going on with this myself.

I noticed that this happens when I use Proxy mode. It was working fine when routing directly, but started to disconnect again once I enabled Proxy mode.
v4.14 Nightly 19.
Ok it failed again, but I'm unable to send logs as I get the error message "failed to send logs" even when sending to the @.*** email address

@enduser1 The “failed to send logs” error could be related to the size of the log archive. As a temporary workaround, please collect the logs manually. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Set up the AdGuard app
- Update the AdGuard app to the latest available version (release 4.12.2).
- Go to Settings -> General and set the logging level to
Debug. - Wait for the issue to reproduce and note the time.
Set up adb tool
- Install adb to your PC.
- Unlock developer options and enable USB debugging on your TV as explained in this article.
- Make sure that your TV and PC use the same network, and connect your TV to PC using the adb command.
adb connect x.x.x.xwhere x.x.x.x is IP address of your TV.
Collect logs via adb
- Use
adb bugreportcommand to collect system bug report. - Use
adb pull /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.adguard.android/cache/log/journal.logto collect the AdGuard app logs.
Expected result: both files are now stored on your PC.
Send logs
Send these files to [email protected]:
- include
[android]keyword and5875in the subject of your email - specify the exact time when the issue occurred
Thanks. Will do when I get home this Sunday.
