I have the exact same issue and the issue happens not just on reboot but every time adguard app is closed so obviously after a reboot adguard is starting after a closed state.

I also strongly request to make intentions of the feature: "filter secure DNS" clear to the user.

If a user has turned on DNS filtering in adguard and manually set a custom dns there then of course he is expecting to route all the requests to go through that particular dns server so "redirect to dns proxy" should be the default.

Adguard dns proxy is much more advanced than any dns filtering tool available with even doh3 support and no user is going to prefer browser's or any other app's inbuilt dns server over adguard except specific cases.

The option shouldn't be in low level config but in the dns module itself because even after setting a custom dns, the user is in delusion that dns filtering is handled by the custom dns/dns proxy which is not true.

I wonder when this issue will be resolved, and besides, I suspect this is related to the loss of DNS filter updates

When will this error be fixed?

Same, I don't know why an option can't be remembered like all other options that you can put on or off...

Just to add this issue is still occuring for me on both my Android devices. It seems to have no logic when it resets either it just does at random times.

Agree, I do not see why "Redirect to DNS Proxy" is not the default behavior. If you have DNS Protection active clearly you want the app to be processing the requests & not anything else.
