Block Mozilla Firefox Telemetry

Prerequisites

  • [x] I checked the documentation and found no answer;
  • [x] I checked to make sure that this issue has not already been filed;
  • [x] This is not an ad/bug report.

Problem description

Please add the following Mozilla Firefox telemetry hosts to the Adguard Tracking Protection list:

● incoming.telemetry.mozilla.org ● classify-client.services.mozilla.com ● normandy.cdn.mozilla.net ● normandy.tombstone.experimenter.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net

The first two are basic telemetry and privacy leaks. The second two allow Mozilla to change browser settings and remotely install extensions without user intervention.

Proposed solution

As mentioned above, adding these filters will block all Firefox Telemetry and Privacy Leaks.

These are useful telemetry, not typical trackers that are used for the sole purpose of tracking users. So I don't think the AdGuard team will add these to their list. Rely on a separate list to block these.

Mozilla to change browser settings and remotely install extensions without user intervention.

Mozilla uses this system to patch broken websites and apply emergency fixes. If you block it, you will break Firefox.

If you all you want is for it to stop enabling experimental features, opt out of all studies.
