fix: extension does not initialize on startup
Persistent of background page is set to false in extension manifest on Firefox.
Others should be fine with this modification.

unfortunately the proposed approach does not run init sooner then the current one
Note that the current one is never initialized on browser startup until users visit the first website.
This is a huge difference.

I don't know exactly when. But if it's merged soon, it'll be part of the upcoming v5.2 release

it happens when the user which filed the issue becomes banned on GitHub
In a less likely scenario, the report was placed in some private repository.
