Research for the UI appearance (anti aliasing)

Open TURRET14 opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Issue Details

App looks trash even on a 4K screen, everything is pixelated. This is literally the first app completely without AA that I have seen in years. Literally all GUI frameworks have in-built Anti Aliasing, why is it not implemented here?

Proposed solution

Add Anti Aliasing in the Adguard VPN for Windows App.

Alternative solution

No response

Strange, I'm on 4k display and app looks good, no any pixalated UI elements. Also AA is turning on in Windows settings. Maybe you mean to implement High DPI support setting and auto scale deppending on DPI?

Screen Scaling 175% (In Windows). If you zoom in on the text, you can clearly see it does not look right (Especially on the "Подключен" label. Unfortunately, the text is slightly blurred on the screenshot so it is not that obvious). And only now I understand why - App doesnt scale properly. It becomes bigger when scaled, but no details are added - The text always has the same pixel count and is just stretched. Its resolution seems to not depend on scaling. Because of that and the lack of AA, the text looks bad on higher scaling options. Is it possible to implement proper scaling? Or just blur effect to hide aliasing? The app on the default scaling (100) looks fine.
